If there is reliance on vendor to patch driver and devices are likely not receiving new binaries - maybe it is not worth supporting those devices anymore for sake of security moving forward? Reason is, Advanced Tomato has a great config-gui and the open-vpn runs flawless. I spent many hours in tweaking open-vpn together with dnsmasq on tomato for best integration in our network-design and I don't like to switch back to any other firmware yet.
