So Steam community, workshops, discussions etc not reachable. VPN is not an option for her computer but mine has and i already downloaded those mods So how can we over come of this. There might be steam command that subscribes to mod without opening workshop most of those commands work in the internet browser if the steam is enabled, there is also steam console which can be enable but I didn't mess with it so you would either have to find such command or wait for someone who found this already.
So because of this i do every once in a while a save copy in a desktop folder along with a shortcut to the saved game folder for the game that i frequently update about 3 times per in-game season, in average , but recently that all changed because my copys no longer work when i copy-paste them into the save folder.
I like to download updates directly from Steam but i want to be able to control when it does, so i'm looking for someone that can find me a way disable and enbale at will the connection between Steam and Don't Starve because, previously every time i logged into Steam with saved games files that were difrent from those copies that are automaticly stored in Steam, It gave me an option to play from the Steam Cloud copies and those that i had in the PC, now that doesn't even happen and no matter what copy i put into the folder and then log into the game i see no saves nor any playable characters that i had unlocked sometimes even the morgue would appear empty.
I don't know if this is a bug or it was intended or my back files are corrupted, but if anyone knows how to help me, please reply cuz i really dunno what to do. PS: Sorry about the really long text, if you've read it through the end, i appreciate your patience and please reply.
Showing 1 - 4 of 4 comments. I probably didn't do it right but i've disable the Steam Cloud as you said and still i can't play without starting Steam. You should now be able to browse all the mods that are available to download. Click on the mod you want to install. Now click on the download button. This will download the mod to your machine. Double click on the file you just downloaded to open it. Copy the folder inside to your Don't Starve mods folder.
This folder will be one of the following depending on which version of the game you are running:. Your new mod should now work with any worlds you already have and any new ones you create. Have fun. I just don't understund. But when i start game everything is same.
When i go to main menu and look at mods , it says ,, crashed at the start , automat.. I can't fix it. Could you please try enabling your mods, logging into game, shutting the game down and then uploading your 'log. Could you post a screenshot of your mods folder and then a screenshot of inside the folder of one of the mods you want to use?
